      Stop At: Streymoy, Streymoy
      All tours begin in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands with pick up from all hotels and the main bus terminal.

      a narrow but very steep island, Kalsoy is a gem when hiking or sightseeing.

      Kallurin has always been a go to destination, for people that want to see sheer beauty, and is a must if you have the mobility to do so (hike is medium hard, but not too long. 45 minutes each way.

      The northernmost part of the island was used as a filming location for the 25th James Bond movie No Time to Die, due to be released in 2021.

      Since 2014 there has been a boom in the visits to island of Kalsoy, and this is because of the statue of the Seal woman. you will hear the story about her, and many more on this wonderful island.

      The island is isolated, so we take a ferry out.

      Stop At: Trøllanes, Faroe Islands
      Trøllanes in located on the northern tip of the island.

      The village is most famous for its great hike to the north end of the island called Kallurin. Kallur lighthouse is amongst the most famous and iconic hikes in the Faroes.

      Other than that you can see a lot of birds. The variaty is astounding. This is also one of the few places you can see puffins from the town itself. In later years the area where the puffins are, has been protected, so if you want to see them clearly, binoculars or a good lense is a good idea.

      Stop At: Mikladalur, Mikladalur, Kalsoy
      Mikladalur means the grand valley.

      This town is the largest on the island, and has a population of approx. 30.

      The town had historically a greater population, so there are more houses than people in town.

      In these days the town is most famous for the statue of the Seal woman. We will tell you the stories about her and many more here.

      There is also an old smithy in town to see as a curiosity.

      Stop At: Syðradalur, Faroe Islands
      This town has quite an curious story.

      Originally the people of the town lived on the western side of the island, but re settled on the east coast, as the west side is steeper, and the town was hit by avanlanches frequently.

      This is the town where the ferry sails from, so we spend some time here, as we have to be in good time, to secure a spot on the ferry.

      Stop At: Kunoy, Kunoy
      There are two settlements on Kunoy. on the west coast and Haraldssund on the south-east coast. These have been connected by a tunnel since 1988. Haraldssund is connected by a causeway to the neighbouring island of Borðoy to the east of Kunoy. Before the causeway was built, travel to the island was by ferry. Nowadays the 504 bus runs a regular service across the causeway, with a route from Klaksvík through Ánir then across to Haraldssund and through the tunnel to Kunoy.

      Stop At: Vidareidi, Vidareidi, Vidoy Island
      This is the northernmost settlement in the Faroe Islands on the Island of Viðoy. It's another example of a beautiful Faroese village on the north side of the archipelago
      Besides from the beautiful scenery Viðareiði is known for ghosts, and you tour guide will explain you how that is.

      Stop At: Kalsoy, Kalsoy
      Kalsoy is an island in the north-east of the Faroe Islands, Between Eysturoy and Kunoy. The name means man(male) island; by contrast with the parallel island to the east, Kunoy, the name of which means woman island.

      Day 2: Highlights of Vágar island

      Stop At: Norðradalur, Faroe Islands
      Norðradalur is a village on the western coast of the Faroese island of Streymoy in Tórshavn Municipality.

      On this trip we stop above the town to take pictures from the mountain pass, named Norðadalsskarð.

      The village lies in a large valley surrounded be steep mountains and the ocean, with a beautiful view over to the island of Koltur.
      Duration: 15 minutes

      Stop At: Sandavagur, Sandavagur, Vagar Island
      Being the old place of resident for the Løgmaður (prime minister) of the islands, Sandavágur is a historic place.

      Sandavágur translates into sandy bay, and the name comes from the beach in town.

      We take a short walk in town, ending up at the iconic church in town, where we visit.

      Pass By: Midvagur, Midvagur, Vagar Island
      Miðvágur is the largest town on Vágar. Its name translates to middle bay, as it is between the other two big bays, Sandavágur and Sørvágur.

      We will drive through Miðvág without stopping

      Stop At: Lake Leitisvatn, Vagar Island Faroe Islands
      Lake Leitisvatn is the biggest lake in the Faroes. Located between Miðvág and the airport.

      It is famous for its optical illusion, wich doesnt seem to make sense, as it seems like the lake should fall in to the ocean.

      It is more famous by its name The lake above the ocean.
      We will not see the illusion on this stop, as that is a 3 hour hike to see.

      We will instead stop at the statue of the Nix on the other side of the lake.

      Stop At: Bøur, Faroe Islands
      Bøur is a small village on the west-side of Vágar on the north side of Sørvágsfjørður, Faroe Islands. It has views over the sea and the rocky islet Tindhólmur with its many peaks, Gáshólmur and the two "drangar", (tall, pointed clifftops sticking up from the sea). This motif is known on many paintings and photographs.

      The old houses in the village are bunched together with narrow lanes between them, and at the western end stands the cozy church, which was built in 1865.

      Bøur is an ancient settlement and is mentioned in the so-called Dog Letter dating from 1350 AD, but it is probably older. The village is also mentioned as having a church in a document dated 1710, but it is not known when the first village church was built.

      Stop At: Gasadalur, Gasadalur, Vagar Island
      Gásadalur is located on the edge of Mykinesfjørður, surrounded by the highest mountains on Vágar. Árnafjall towers to a height of 722 metres to the north, and Eysturtindur to the east is 715 metres high. Here too, the view south to Tindhólmur and Gáshólmur is quite magnificent. Eysturtindur translates to English as "the Peak in the East

      The boat landing site is very poor, because it is located somewhat higher than the seashore. So if the residents wanted to fish, they were obliged to keep their boats near Bøur. In 1940, during the British occupation of the Faroe Islands, a stairway was built from the beach up to the village.

      Stop At: Mulafossur Waterfall, Gasadalur, Vagar Island Faroe Islands
      Múlafossur is a must see for any visitor to the Faroe Islands!

      One of the biggest tourist attraction on the Faroe Islands, and for good reason. The view on Gásadalur and Múlafossur is spectacular: the waterfall just falls off the island. A breathtaking panorama both towards the village and the close-by Mykines island.

      Day 3: Vestmanna Bird Cliffs & Viking Settlements

      Stop At: Leynar, Leynar, Streymoy
      The village is on the western coast of the island of Streymoy in the municipality of Kvívíkar. The 2005 population was 120. Leynar is the birthplace of Faroese actor Sverri Egholm (1930–2001) and domicile of the poet Guðrið Helmsdal.
      Duration: 10 minutes

      Stop At: Kvívík, Faroe Islands
      Kvívík is one of the oldest settlements in the Faroes and excavations have shown the remains of Viking houses. The oldest current house in Kvívík was built in the 18th century. There have been other churches, the present one was built in 1903. The village got a school in 1907. Pupils from the villages Kvívík, Stykkið, Leynar and Skælingur go there until 7th grade. When they start in the 8th grade they will attend the school in Vestmanna. The present school was founded on 22 August 1976. In 2010 a new building was built for multipurpose kindergarten, which was named Áarlon. It has rooms for children from the ages 0 to 8. There is a rowing club in Kvívík. It is called Kvívíkar Sóknar Róðrarfelag. One of their boats which is called Junkarin won the Faroese championship for 5-mannafør women in 2011. The same boat won the championship in the boys' category in 1975, 1976 and in 1998.

      Stop At: Vestmannabjørgini Sp/F, 6, 350 Fjarðarvegur, Vestmanna 350, Faroe Islands
      Step aboard a boat and go on an unforgettable adventure to Vestmanna Sea Cliffs. On this classic Faroe Islands experience you will have the opportunity to see some of the most remarkable coastline in the Faroe Islands.

      The trip departures from the harbour in Vestmanna, a village in impressive amphitheatrical setting. You will have the chance to enjoy the café just beside the departure point and right next to the café you will also see a selection of small fishing boats belonging to the villagers.

      Stop At: Sornfelli, Faroe Islands
      We park the car at mountain Sornfelli, and enjoy the magnificent view over the Atlantic ocean where the islands Vágoy, Sandoy, Hestur and Koltur rise up from the ocean and create a beautiful frame for this wonderful nature experience.
      Here you will have the option to hike "fyri Vestan" for additional 450 DKK which is a easy, great hike

      Day 4: Golden Circle | Saksun, Tjornuvik & Gjogv

      Stop At: Saksun, Faroe Islands
      The beautiful village of Saksun is situated at the base of a tiny inlet and is flanked by the lush green mountains of Koppenni and Melin. You will see the seawater lagoon, the beautiful old church, and visit the 16th-century farm Dúvugarðar with its stone walls and turf roofs. The tour guide will regale you with wondrous stories of the evolution of the islands and the life here over the centuries.

      Stop At: Fossa, Bakkavegur, Streymoy 177 Faroe Islands
      Next, we will head to Tjørnuvík. The route will take us through the valley from Saksun with ever-changing scenery along the Dalsá river with many small waterfalls. Before reaching Tjørnuvík we will stop by Fossá waterfall, which is the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands.

      Stop At: Tjornuvik, Tjornuvik, Streymoy
      Tjørnuvík is the northernmost settlement on Streymoy island and is situated in an isolated inlet with towering mountains and a beautiful black sand beach. From the beach, there is a fantastic view of the sea stacks Risin & Kellingin (The Giant and his Hag).

      Stop At: Slaettaratindur, Eysturoy Faroe Islands
      Upon arrival to Eysturoy island we will experience the view from the road beneath Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe islands.
      Here you will have the option to hike to the highest mountain for additional 450 DKK
      Duration: 10 minutes

      Stop At: Funningur, Funningur, Eysturoy
      From there you will see the zigzagging road we will be driving down to Funningur, which is considered the oldest village in the Faroe Islands

      Stop At: Gjogv, Gjogv, Eysturoy
      Our last village visit will be the peaceful and picturesque Gjógv on the northernmost tip of Eysturoy island. Named after its amazing 200-meter gorge, which runs out from the village and into the North Atlantic sea.
